Lemon exports top the tree..

Argentinean lemon exports have increased by 16 per cent year on year, so far this season to total 255,384 tonnes, according to information released by national food safety and quality agency Senasa. Exports have risen in value by some 27 per cent to reach $116 million dollars. Lemons continue to top the Argentinean fruit export table and the main markets are Russia, the Netherlands – for re-export around the EU – Italy, Greece, the Ukraine and Spain. During the first seven months of 2007, fruit exports overall also exceeded 2006 levels by 16 per cent in volume and 26 per cent in value.
